The Cayman Islands Rugby Football Union has its own pitch and clubhouse on South Sound Road.
Founded in 1971, the Cayman Rugby Football Union has been the island's rugby destination for over 50 years! Based in South Sound, the Union administers and delivers rugby programs throughout the Cayman Islands for both adults and youth players. There are leagues for veterans, men, women and junior rugby players. Most games are played on the weekends between September and June. Men’s and women’s training sessions are held twice a week, with a full-time coach available to coordinate and coach players/teams.
National Rugby Programme
The National Rugby Programme contains male, female and youth teams that
travel abroad to represent the island in international competitions like the
Rugby Americas North (RAN) tournament and the Freeport Youth Tournament.
Domestic Rugby Programme
Cayman's Domestic Rugby Programme consists of four teams: Buccaneers RFC,
Cayman Storm RFC, Iguanas RFC and Pigs Trotters RFC. These teams compete in a
series of domestic tournaments including the Summer Sevens Series, Alex
Alexander Memorial and more.
Maples Group Youth Rugby Programme
Youth up to 19 years of age play in the Maples Group Youth Rugby Program with
club training on Saturdays and throughout the week. It’s a fun and very
sociable programme the young girls and boys love.
Summer Corporate Touch Rugby League
This mixed touch rugby league is open to male and female players each
summer. Created in 2002, it has become one of the largest sport leagues on Island
with 38 teams spread across three divisions. The season is typically played
from June to September.
