Cayman’s flat topography and warm climate makes it a perfect place for recreational and competitive cycling.
The Cayman Islands Cycling Association (CICA) is a dynamic and active organisation. They meet at Hurley’s Supermarket car park in Grand Harbour every Sunday for a 7am departure. The group ride is made up of a mixture of serious cyclists, triathletes and beginners who cycle 48-60 miles at an average pace of 18-20 miles per hour, and the more advanced cyclists ride 50-75 miles.
The CICA organises cycling events throughout the year including the May Cycling Classic Series held throughout May, Cayman Cycling Championships (58 mile Road Race and 24 mile Individual Time Trial). Find out more on the CICA website www.caymancycling.ky.
You can join Mr. Orrett “OC” Connor and Mr. Eddie Powell along with their Day Breakers Cycling Group, who depart at 5am on Sunday mornings from Savannah and cycle down to the Seven Mile Beach area and back again. Email: president@caymancycling.ky or info@caymancycling.ky for more info.
