Grand Cayman has a great running community and offers running opportunities for people of all abilities, from marathoners to Sunday afternoon joggers.
The Cayman Islands Marathon is held the first Sunday in December and is extremely popular due to the cool temperatures and its flat, fast route. The event consists of a full marathon, half marathon, four-person relay and Kids Fun Run.
It’s also a Boston Marathon Qualifier. You will also find there are frequent and competitive running events scheduled throughout the year. The Cayman Islands Half and Full Marathon is one of the biggest sporting events in the Cayman calendar, attracting over 3,000 participants and over 200 volunteers. It’s a safe, friendly, well-organised and growing race that is garnering plenty of attention worldwide. The Wednesday Night Running Club meets at the World Gym for a prompt 6pm start. They are a sociable group and runners of all levels are welcome.
