There are a good number of playgroups and other activities for mothers and babies which meet on a weekly basis.
South Sound Community Centre Playgroup is very popular and is open to babies a few days old until around five years old. At the time of going to print, their usual venue at South Sound Community Centre venue is being used as a COVID-19 testing centre so the group has temporarily moved to the Cayman Islands Baptist Church on Pedro Castle Road. They meet every Monday between 9.30am-11am except Public Holidays. The cost is CI$8 per family, per session and includes light refreshments. Tel: (345) 943 6556
For children aged 0 to 7 years of age, Motions Unlimited (Tel: (345) 749 8365) offers a Toddler Play Day on Thursdays and Fridays, 10.30am-12pm and Saturdays 8.30am-10am. Toddler play day participants will be required to purchase the usual package of 10 visits ($150) for one child and ($250) for two children. You must register and pay in advance on the Motions website.
Another fun venue for young children includes Yoga Sprouts which offers Mummy and Me classes for babies, toddlers and kids.
Kula Kids Cayman offers Mummy and Baby Yoga from newborn to 24 months and Mummy and Toddler Yoga from 18 months-36 months.
The talented music teachers at Jukebox and The Studio Cayman both offer weekly music and sensory classes for children ages 0-4 years. These are lovely, friendly classes for care givers and children alike.
3 Girls & A Kiln hosts extremely popular bi-weekly Toddler Art Days. These ‘Mini Masterpiece’ classes offer various sensory art stations for children ages 18 months to 4 years old.
