Does your child have a love for technology and science? The activities below will help them learn more about their passions in a fun-filled environment.
Machine Learning Robotics by TechCayman is a great option for kids interested in learning more about technology. This two-day weekend camp is held every single month and is open to kids ages 11 and up. Sessions are free to join and the group meets from 9am-3pm.
Machine Learning Robotics strives to expose youths to rudimentary mechanical engineering and programming fundamentals. They aspire to make these concepts both fun and accessible, helping to inspire a new generation of young engineers in Cayman. This is a field that has previously had limited exposure in Cayman, so it's important to foster and nurture these passions at an early age.
At camp, each team of two creators and one mentor shares a robotics kit and programming workstation, collaborating to build and program robots to autonomously navigate increasingly complex puzzles. Contact machinelearning@techcayman.com or call (345) 326 0148 to learn more.
Minds Inspired also runs two annual robotics competitions – SeaPerch and the FIRST Tech Challenge.
Both competitions are open to all Cayman Islands High School students, and interested students should talk to their science and technology teachers.
