The 2021 Census suggests that 93% of Cayman Island's residents have health insurance, which is mandatory for all residents and must be obtained through an approved insurance provider. This includes the Government-owned CINICO and several other insurers that accept both individual and group applications for healthcare coverage. In January 2022 it was estimated that 69,565 people had an active health insurance policy in the Cayman Islands, up from 65,114 in 2021.
