The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) offers a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and public health services at seven different locations across the Cayman Islands, including the 124-bed hospital in Grand Cayman and 18-bed hospital in Cayman Brac.
The Disrtict Health Centres operated by HSA provide a variety of services to the residents and visitors of the Cayman Islands. All of their District Health Centres are fully staffed by registered nurses who are dedicated to providing quality healthcare to all patients.
Their services range from primary healthcare, acute care, family medicine and general practice to immunizations, paediatrics and public health.
Along with the wide range of services offered, in 2019 HSA also achieved two major firsts. These included a ground-breaking meniscus transplant surgery on a local patient (the first of its kind in the region) and the Island’s first 3D Stereotactic Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy.
Cayman Islands Hospital
The Cayman Islands Hospital offers accident and emergency services, a general practitioner clinic, full maternity services, haemodialysis, and a full service outpatient pharmacy.
Faith Hospital serves the residents of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Services include general medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, obstetrics and gynaecology.
District Health Centres
The following District Health Centres are operated by the Health Services Authority to provide quality healthcare. They accept most forms of payment, as well as local insurance. Bodden Town Health Centre
The Bodden Town Health Centre is fully staffed by Registered Nurses who are available Monday and Thursday 8.30am-8pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. Physicians are available by appointment on Monday and Thursday 5pm-8pm; Wednesday and Friday 9am-12pm. Dental clinics are available by appointment for adults on Monday and Tuesday 8.30am-4pm and for children Thursday and Friday 9.30am-4pm. The dental hygienist is also available Wednesday 8.30am-3pm. A pharmacist is available Monday and Thursday 1.30pm-8pm, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am-4pm and closed on Saturday & Sunday. East End Health Centre
The East End Health Centre is fully staffed by Registered Nurses who are available Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. Physicians are available by appointment, Monday 1pm-4pm and Thursday 9am-12pm. A pharmacist is available Monday and Thursday 8.30am-4pm. Childrens’ vaccines are provided, by appointment only, on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 1pm-4pm. George Town Health Centre
The George Town Health Centre is fully staffed by Registered Nurses and General Practice physicians who are trained to deal with emergency situations, as well as minor illnesses and injuries such as the common cold. Services provided include diagnosis, investigation and treatment of non-life threatening illnesses; routine care of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and muscle and joint problems; routine check-ups including medicals, PAP smears; diabetic clinic; and dressing changes. The George Town General Practice is open by appointment only on Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 1pm-4pm. The Acute Care Clinic is open for walk ins on Monday-Friday 7.30am-8pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. A pharmacist is available on Monday-Friday 9.30-6pm. Little Cayman Clinic
The Little Cayman Clinic, located on Spot Bay Road, provides primary and emergency care to residents and visitors of Little Cayman, with a resident Registered Nurse and weekly visiting physicians from Faith Hospital. Patients requiring secondary care are transferred to Faith Hospital or the Cayman Islands Hospital. The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-1pm, Tuesday and Thursday 1pm-5pm and has an on-call Emergency Response vehicle. North Side Health Centre
The North Side Health Centre is a convenient option if you have a medical concern while at Rum Point or Kaibo with your family. The centre is fully staffed by registered nurses who are available Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12noon. Physicians are available by appointment on Tuesday 9am-12noon & Friday 9am-12noon and 2pm-4pm. A pharmacist is available Tuesday & Friday 8.30am-4pm. An ambulance service is stationed at the clinic 24 hours for emergencies and at-home patients. The West Bay Health Centre is fully staffed by registered nurses who are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am–4pm; Wednesday 8.30am–8pm and Saturday 8.30am–12pm. Physicians are available by appointment on Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8:30-4pm, Wednesday from 2pm–8pm and Thursday 9am–12pm. A dentist is available on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8.30am-4pm. The dental hygienist is also available on Monday and Tuesday 8.30am-3pm. A pharmacist is available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8.30am– 5pm, Wednesday 1.30pm-8pm.
