When purchasing a new piano it is recommended that you tune it four times during the first year, twice in the second year, and a minimum of once per year after that, depending on the amount of use and environmental conditions. If you are purchasing a used piano, make sure to ask the seller about the last time it was tuned.
Typically, acoustic pianos require a service every 6-12 months depending on the age, environmental conditions and amount of use it gets.
