About Jasmine
Jasmine is the Cayman Islands’ only dedicated provider of free palliative and hospice care, offering compassionate, dignified medical, emotional, and physical support to individuals facing life-limiting or serious illnesses, regardless of age, diagnosis, or stage of illness.
Its specialist team, which includes a Palliative Care Physician, trained nurses, caregivers, and volunteers, delivers care across a range of settings. Most support is provided in patients’ homes, where staff assist with symptom management, treatment plans, comfort care, and emotional wellbeing. Care can also be received at Jasmine’s outpatient clinics or at the Jasmine Villa, a purpose-built facility offering round-the-clock inpatient services for end-of-life or respite care.
Palliative care is often misunderstood as being solely for cancer patients or those at the very end of life. In reality, it can benefit anyone with a long-term or life-limiting condition, such as cancer, dementia, neurological diseases, kidney failure, or heart disease, and it can be provided alongside curative treatments. Jasmine works closely with primary care physicians to ensure patients and their families receive holistic, person-centred care that enhances quality of life.
In addition to clinical services, Jasmine offers complementary therapies, bereavement support, and a range of community programmes to help alleviate both physical and emotional suffering.
As a non-profit organisation, Jasmine relies on the generosity of the Cayman community for over 90% of its funding. With increasing demand for services and rising operational costs, continued financial support is essential to ensure that care remains free and accessible to all who need it.
