Established in 1970 as the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants, CIIPA has evolved into one of the largest professional societies in the Cayman Islands with more than 1,000 members. The organisation’s mission is to further the public interest through the regulation of the accounting profession, promoting the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
In 2007, a new era of regulatory oversight of accounting in Cayman was instigated and CIIPA became officially responsible for licencing accounting practitioners on-Island. This was followed by another key milestone in 2013 when the association became a full member of the International Federation of Accountants, the worldwide organisation representing the profession.
A not-for-profit, it prides itself on its role as both an educator and regulator in the financial services industry. As a leading global accounting institute, CIIPA recognises its role to represent the credibility and sustainability of the Cayman Islands. They intened to facilitate trust and confidence in the jurisdiction and the accounting profession at large by providing knowledge, resources, advocacy and regulation.
