For the purpose of a work permit application, a bank account application or any other reason when you may need your identity verified, you will need a Cayman Islands Notary Public to certify that the document is an authentic and correct copy of the original.
COVID-19: Remote Notaries
In accordance with the Shelter in Place provisions, the government has temporarily allowed notaries to conduct notarisations remotely. Audio and video calls satisfy the requirement that the signer appear physically before the notary during the signing event. Those wishing to conduct a remote notary need access to an online video service and a scanner.
The 4 steps are as follows:
1. Contact a notary on the list below
2. Email the notary a good quality photo or scan of the document to be notarized.
3. Arrange a video call with the Notary, as they must be able to see you to confirm your identity and notarize the document.
4. The notary will then email a notarized copy back to you.
You can find a list of all licensed and active notaries on the Judicial website. The standard charge is CI$25 per stamp.
Alternatively, call one of the notaries listed below.
