Losing a pet is heart-breaking, but it can help to find a special way to remember their life and how important they were to your family.
Not only can it be heart-breaking, but it can also feel very
overwhelming. Often, it helps to seek help when commemorating your furry friend's life. While some choose to bury their pet on their own land (if they own a garden), others choose cremation. Whether you choose to bury or cremate your beloved animal, the below companies offer different services to memorialise your pets:
Importing Pet Ashes
Keeping a pet’s ashes can serve as a reminder of the bond you shared, offering closure in moments of grief. To import your pets’ ashes, you first need to fill out an application form which is accessible via DOA’s website. The application fee is non-refundable and cost a total of CI$50 (US $61.00) which should be paid to the Cayman Islands Government. Wire transfers and personal international cheques are not accepted. Alongside the fee and completed form, you will also need to provide a postmortem health certificate or letter from the animals Veterinarian, stating that the animal did not die from any contagious disease. The cause of death must also be clearly listed on the certificate or letter. Certification (or other acceptable form of proof) detailing that your pet was created from the cremation service used should be submitted. Please also note that scattering the deceased animals remains without permission from the DOA is illegal.
