Cayman has a thriving community of bees which ensures that our fruit trees continue to bear abundantly. However, sometimes these bees can overtake a corner of your garden and may need to be safely removed and relocated.
Bee removal should be done by a professional – please do not kill the bees!
At the time of writing this, the following private individuals offer bee removal services: Otto Watler (Tel: (345) 947 1255) who lives in Lower Valley and produces Pure Cayman Honey from his happy family of bees. He has been removing unwanted bees from people’s homes and gardens for decades.
Cayman Bee Farm offers bee hive removal and relocation services and will set up and maintain hives at private residences for those who wish to keep bees. Their natural raw Cayman honey can be found in various retail outlets on island (Tel: (345) 925 2337).
Jamaal Solomon of Raegan’s Honey (Tel: (345) 926 4411) also offer removal.
The cost varies depending on the complexity of the situation but many will not charge for the service if it is an easy process to remove them. At the end of the day all those listed above want to safely remove the bees so that they do not die and are allowed to live and continue to thrive! Cayman is much better for us having happy and healthy bees!
