About Dr Jo-Anne Brathwaite-Drummond
Dr Jo-Anne Brathwaite-Drummond, M.B., B.S., DM (Psych), MPH, obtained her bachelor of medicine/ bachelor of surgery (M.B., B.S.) from UWI Mona in 1997. After gaining experience in primary care and emergency medicine in Jamaica, she returned to Barbados in 2003. She continued service in emergency medicine and geriatrics for two years. She then undertook and completed a Doctorate of Medicine in Psychiatry at UWI Cave Hill in 2009. Dr. Brathwaite-Drummond also holds a Masters in Public Health with the University of Liverpool since 2011.
She has served in the field of mental health care for 20 years, 13 of which were as a community-based consultant psychiatrist treating patients across the lifespan. Dr. Brathwaite-Drummond was also an associate lecturer in psychiatry with the UWI for many years, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate programme.
Dr. Brathwaite-Drummond is a passionate advocate for those with mental health conditions and is eager to contribute to the Cayman Islands’ health system.
