Made up of more than 700 islands, the Bahamas is famed for its crystal clear water, world class scuba diving and, of course, swimming pigs.
In September 2019 Abaco and Grand Bahama, two of the 700 islands that make up the Bahamas, were hit by Dorian, a devastating category 5 hurricane. While those islands have a long reconstruction journey ahead of them, the rest of the Bahamas is open for business. The Government is urging people to continue visiting the Bahamas so the tourism industry isn’t adversely affected.
Each island offers a variety of attractions from diving, fishing and boating to shopping and dining.
We recommend visiting Nassau, the capital, which exudes a special charm lent by a blend of Old World architecture, contemporary vitality and an array of restaurants. From Nassau, Pig Beach and the world famous swimming pigs are just a boat ride away!
