The Big Shave
Now in its 10th year, Hannah's Heroes Big Shave was created to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. Since then, Hannah's Heroes is one of the most successful shave events globally, to date raising millions for childhood cancer research. Each September hundreds gather on the Cricket Square grounds to watch, men women and children shave their heads in solidarity with those children fighting cancer. Participants raise funds and often donate their hair to charities specialising in wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment. 2024 date TBC.
Oktoberfest
Many bars, restaurants and hotels get an early jump on Oktoberfest celebrations in September. Food and drink, in true Bavarian spirit, is central to festivities and there is lots of good beer to be drunk and German food staples to be sampled at each event. Camana Bay, Grand Harbour and Anchor & Den can be counted on each year for a spirited party.
