The Big Shave
Now in its eighth year, Hannah's Heroes Big Shave was created to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. Since then, Hannah's Heroes is one of the most successful shave events globally, to date raising over US$2.3 million for childhood cancer research. Each September hundreds gather on the Cricket Square grounds to watch, men women and children shave their heads in solidarity with those children fighting cancer. Participants raise funds and often donate their hair to charities specialising in wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
