The Ministry of Financial Services and Commerce is responsible for legislation and policy development pertaining to the financial services industry and engagement on international tax, transparency, and regulatory initiatives and commerce operations.

The Ministry has responsibility for the following departments and agencies: Department for International Tax Cooperation, General Registry, Office for Strategic Action on Illicit Finance (OSAIF), Cayman Islands Intellectual Property Office, Department of Commerce and Investment, the National Maritime Affairs Secretariat and Cayman Islands Centre for Business Development.
The Ministry oversees these statutory authorities: Auditors Oversight Authority, Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands and Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands.
