SEL Inspections are a Third Party (Independent) building inspectors for BCU and Chapter 17 Inspections – the fast-track option to permit inspections.

Under the Cayman Building Code you have the option to opt of the Government Inspectors and go with Third Party inspectors for a fee instead. The advantage of the Third Party is that they can offer a fast-tracked system. If there is an error in the works, they return once the correction is complete if it can not be done within 30 minutes. Minor errors will wait and then sign off on the works. The current waiting time at the time of writing is 4-5 days for the public system.

Once you sign up with SEL Inspections, just WhatsApp them when your contractor is ready and then they handle the request, the inspection and submitting the inspection to the OPS system.
