One Dog at a Time rescues unwanted dogs and puppies from the streets and from the Department Of Agriculture pound. At DOA pound dogs that are found on the streets or surrendered by their owners are at risk of euthanasia. ODAAT raise funds through their fundraising events and donations to cover the costs of vetting the dogs, spaying and neutering them and treating for heartworm or other issues such as ringworm (when needed). Their funds also pay for collars and leashes, dog crates, dog bowls, poop bags and other items needed as well as covering the costs of food and Heartgard whilst in foster homes. The funds raised also pay for dogs to be flown to their rescue partners in Miami, Orlando, Tampa and Toronto. Currently, they rescue and re-home 30 dogs a month. They need to raise at least $11000 each month to cover these costs and have some wonderful community partners who work with us to help us raise these funds.

They are always looking for donors, adopters and people to accompany dogs on flights.

In instances that dog owners cannot afford to pay high vet bills, ODAAT will sometimes provide assistance so that pet owners can keep their pet rather than surrender them. Email: onedogatatimeky@gmail.com.

How to Get Involved
One way you can support is by sponsoring a dog. Donating $50 donation covers the food ODAAT buy each month and $25 buys a collar and leash. $200 covers the cost of a spay or neuter operation or heartworm treatment for a heartworm positive dog. Any financial support no matter how small is always appreciated. Alternatively, they are also very happy to accept donations of items that you no longer need or want. They can sell these at their thrift shop, at the end of Arthur’s Way, off the waterfront, the road at the side of the Sagicor building. They are at the end next to Economy Printers. Selling items raises funds for the dogs they rescue.

Donations of items from businesses that they can use as event or raffle prizes are also very much appreciated. Another way to support is to sponsor ODAAT supporters when they run in the Cayman Islands Marathon orto do a dress down day at work. They cannot do the work that they do without the support that they get from members of the community.

Thrift Shop
Sells clothes and shoes for men and women. Open Monday-Friday 12pm-3pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-12pm. The Thrift Shop is located at Arthur’s Way in George Town.

Lost pets are sometimes picked up by ODAAT.
