About Clever Fish
Clever Fish, located in the Windjammer Building on Walkers Road, George Town, Grand Cayman, specialises in the high school education of children with an Educational Psychology report which specifically outlines that they cannot be educated in a mainstream school.
Clever Fish's School
Clever Fish specialises in teaching children with SEN (special education needs) and each child must have an EdPsych report and approval from the Education Council for SEN Alternative Placement to be allowed to attend. Consequently class sizes are very small and each child gets lots of attention in a quiet and calm setting. Please contact Nicola Sowerby at Clever Fish for the forms and more information on how their very small class sizes and individual attention can help your gifted and SEN child get amazing results in their iGCSE and A Levels.
Clever Fish's Enrichment Programme
Then in the afternoons Clever Fish offers a very popular after-school term-time academic and enrichment programme which is run by experienced teachers. Children do their homework to a very high standard or catch up on some work that they are falling behind on. After they have completed this the children can play interactive academic games of which the school has many.
Hours: 2.30pm-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Cost: CI$50 per session
Ages: 8 and up (Year 3)
From 3.30pm-5pm, all children work on academics. Primary school children sit with a primary school specialist. High School children can work with any subject specialist teacher (Maths, Science, English, History, Geography, RE).
Their fist job is to complete any homework that needs doing - properly! The teacher checks the child understands the work and completes the homework properly. If a child has any misunderstanding the work is retaught so that it is understood properly.
If all homework is completed, they move onto extension work. The teachers at Clever Fish can decide which subject their child needs extra help with and they provide work which will support their current learning in school. If there are tests or exams coming up then CF will ensure they are prepared.
From 5pm-6pm, children who have worked well and finished everything can enjoy all the activities at Clever Fish. These include Lego, Robotics, Games, Drawing or just having fun with friends.
