The Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Pop-Up Clinic gives plant lovers, plant parents, commercial farmers and backyard growers an opportunity to have plant problems assessed in person. Attendees can bring plant samples for an on-the-spot diagnosis and practical recommendations from Plant Protection Officer Mr. Laville. The clinic will address concerns including pests, disease, nutrient issues and environmental stress, helping participants understand what may be affecting their crops and how to treat them. Samples should include affected and healthy plant parts where possible and be packaged securely for examination.

Additional Information
Plant samples should include both affected and healthy plant parts. Dead, rotting or dry plant material should not be submitted.Samples should be placed in a properly sealed plastic bag, such as a Ziploc-type bag, or a clean screw-top container or jar. Samples should be labelled with the attendee’s name, contact information, crop type, field or home location, collection date and a clear photograph of the plant.To support biosecurity, samples should remain sealed and cool, different plant samples should not be mixed, samples should be packaged separately, and they should be delivered within 24 hours.
