CCMI Reefs Go Live

Reefs Go Live: Superheroes of the Caribbean Reef is a virtual educational episode exploring the vital species that keep Caribbean reefs thriving. From corals, animals powered by tiny plant partners, to sharks and other key species, this session highlights the “superpowers” that maintain balance beneath the waves.

The episode examines how each species contributes to reef health and what happens when one disappears due to overfishing, physical damage or disease. It also takes a closer look at stony coral tissue loss disease and the risks it poses to reefs. The session concludes by spotlighting CCMI’s coral restoration programme and its work to rebuild biodiversity and strengthen reef resilience.
