Public Holiday: National Heroes Day Grand Cayman

Each year on National Heroes Day, the Cayman Islands honours residents who have made valuable contributions to our nation and reflects upon past honourees.

Starting in 2026, National Heroes Day Awards had a name change and is now known as the National Recognition Awards.  This change, approved by Cabinet, helps distinguish award recipients from those bestowed with the title of National Hero.

The next presentation ceremony will take place on 25th January 2027 at 8.30am in Heroes Square. The ceremony honours those who have shaped the economy of the Islands through their vision, hard work, and determination.
