Being a mom, Dr. Balang understands the importance of having someone accessible and compassionate to trust with the care of your child. Her desire to release the stigma surrounding mental health in the community inspired her pursuits in pediatric mental health. She recognizes that in matters of emotional and mental well-being, children are often left out of the conversation because of their perceived resilience, which has far-reaching implications in their adult lives.
Passionate about giving children a voice and equipping them with the tools they need to nurture their body and mind, Dr. Balang dedicates much of her personal and professional time to giving talks to different organizations and the public about issues that affect children.
