About Dr. Sarah Newton
In 2008, Dr Newton moved to Cayman with her husband and three week old daughter. She is a much loved member of the medical fraternity in the Cayman Islands.
In 2013, Dr. Newton and her family of now five (2 sons in 2010 and 2012) embarked upon a sabbatical to Singapore to further her paediatric experience, working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at KKH Women and Children’s Hospital, where more than 12 000 babies are born per year. Then in 2015, Dr. Newton seized the opportunity to return to the Far North of New Zealand, working in the hospital where her career first began with a team of dedicated paediatricians servicing one of the most remote and lowest socio-economic areas of New Zealand.
Her medical interests include new born care, lactation support, developmental and behavioural paediatrics. She believes in a holistic and preventative approach to health care, empowering families through education rather than prescription. For children with complex medical or developmental concerns Dr. Newton will co-ordinate multidisciplinary team assessment and care and help advocate for the needs of the child.
