Vocational and professional training has come a long way in Cayman over the last few years. Traditional colleges and universities aside, there are also independent organisations, which offer all sorts of courses to help business professionals gain new and valuable skills. The following are a few businesses that offer training courses:

Community Vocational Training Centre Courses are open to students aged 17+ and there are no entry requirements. Students work towards a professional licence or to meet local industry standards to become an electrician, plumber, welder or a/c technician. Courses are held in the evenings from 6pm-9pm. Chamber of Commerce Professional Development & Training Centre
A range of workshops are offered to assist businesses develop their employees. Courses are held in the areas of customer service and business essentials, legal masterclasses, finance, supervision, management and more. Enterprise Cayman, part of Cayman Enterprise City, has launched a computer coding club to help develop local skills in the computer programming and coding field. The twice monthly club is led by seasoned tech entrepreneur, Mark Hall, and assisted by enthusiastic and experienced computer developers. Innovative Management & Professional Training (IMPT)
They offer two accounting programmes: the ACCA Qualification and the Foundations in Accountancy, as well as the IMPT offers certifications from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) at three levels (Foundation Certificate, Advanced Diploma, Professional Diploma), also the ACCA FIA (Foundations of Accountancy) Intermediate Certificate & Diploma, and the ACCA Qualification, as well as the ICSA Certificate in International Finance and Administration(IFA), and the ICSA IFA Advanced Certificate in Fund Administration or Business Management in Practice. Passport2Success: The programme is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Employment and Gender Affairs, along with the support of major employers, which began in 2010. This employment preparedness course offers a 12-week programme for 17 to 23-year-old Caymanians and a 16-week programme for Caymanian Single Mothers, both designed to enhance workplace readiness skills and increase the employability of its participants, developing skills through training seminars, therapeutic intervention, community service and work experience. All applicants will be required to register with the NWDA which provides access to the National Job Link Programme connecting job seekers with employment opportunities and the Training and Development Unit to access internship and apprenticeship opportunities. Ready2Work KY is a government programme for unemployed, high school or recent university graduates. The programme delivers structured training, individual and group support and other training to mitigate the barriers to accessing gainful employment.
