About Dr. Maeve O’Doherty
Dr. O'Doherty is a UK trained and board certified Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic surgeon who treats both adults and children in the Cayman Islands.
Dr. O’Doherty began her medical training in Ireland, gaining her medical doctorate at University Hospital Galway and continuing her Ophthalmic training in Dublin, before moving to London where she did three Oculoplastic fellowships at Imperial College NHS Trust, Chelsea Westminster NHS Trust and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She further complimented her general ophthalmic training by completing a fellowship in cataract surgery.
Now, in the Cayman Islands, Dr. O'Doherty specialises in general ophthalmology, including all types of upper and lower eyelid lifts and eyelid surgery such as eyelid lifts and eyelid bag excision, cataract surgery, pterygium (surfer's eye), age-related macular degeneration, diabetic-related eye disease and paediatrics. Non-surgical services such as rejuvenation, Botox and fillers are also available.

Maeve completed her undergraduate training at University Hospital Galway, Ireland and obtained her medical doctorate there. She did two years general medical training in internal medicine and became a member of the Irish college of Physicians (MRCPI). She continued her Ophthalmic training at The Eye and Ear hospital and The Mater Hospital, Dublin. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland in 2010 (FRCSI). When she relocated to London, she underwent three Oculoplastic fellowships at Imperial College NHS Trust, Chelsea Westminster NHS Trust and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She further complimented her general ophthalmic training by completing a fellowship in cataract surgery.
