The Cayman Islands Hospital is located in the heart of George Town. It is a modern 124-bed hospital, encompassing 139,066sq ft on two storeys and is the principal health care facility in the country.
It offers accident and emergency services, a general practitioner clinic, full maternity services, haemodialysis, and a full service outpatient pharmacy. Diagnostic services include: mammography, computerised tomography, paediatrics, operating theatres, physiotherapy, a pharmacy, laboratory services, including a DNA forensic unit and other facilities that can be expected in a modern healthcare setting.
Specialist services include: gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, operating theatres, physiotherapy, cardiology, internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, haematology, oncology, urology, nutrition, psychology, gastroenterology, interventional radiology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, otorhinolaringology (ear, nose and throat) and chronic pain management. The CIH also brings many visiting specialists to the Island on a regular basis.

District Health Centres, Grand Cayman
The following District Health Centres are operated by the Health Services Authority to provide general practice, child health and primary healthcare services. They accept most forms of payment, as well as local insurance. However, if you have overseas insurance, you will be required to pay the full amount of the service up front and the clinic will provide you with documentation to make your own claim from your overseas provider.
Bodden Town Health Centre
Nursing services are available Monday and Thursday 8.30am-8pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. Doctors’ clinics are by appointment: Monday and Thursday 5pm-8pm; Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-12pm. Dental clinics are available by appointment for adults on Monday and Tuesday 8.30am-4pm and for children Thursday and Friday 9.30am-4pm. The dental hygienist is also available Wednesday 8.30am-3pm. East End Health Centre
The East End Health Centre is fully staffed by registered nurses who are available Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm. Physicians are available by appointment, Monday 1pm-4pm and Thursday 9am-12pm. A pharmacist is available Monday and Thursday 8.30am-4pm. Childrens’ vaccines are provided, by appointment only, on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 1pm-4pm. George Town Health Centre
The George Town Health Centre is fully staffed by registered nurses and General Practice physicians who are trained to deal with emergency situations, as well as minor illnesses and injuries such as the common cold. Services provided include diagnosis, investigation and treatment of non-life threatening illnesses; routine care of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and muscle and joint problems; routine check-ups including medicals, PAP smears; diabetic clinic; and dressing changes. North Side Health Centre
This health centre is a convenient option if you have a medical concern while at Rum Point or Kaibo with your family. Doctors see patients in the general practice clinic by appointment on Tuesdays 9am-12noon and Fridays 2pm-4pm. Nursing services are available Monday-Friday 8.30am-4pm and Saturday 8.30am-12noon. Physicians are available by appointment on Tuesday 9am-12noon & Friday 9-12noon and 2pm-4pm. A pharmacist is available Tuesday 9am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. An ambulance service is stationed at the clinic 24 hours for emergencies and at-home patients. West Bay Health Centre
Nursing services are available during clinic hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8.30am–4pm; Wednesdays 8.30am–8pm and Saturdays 8.30am–12pm. Doctors’ clinics are available by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8.30am–4pm, Wednesdays from 1pm–8pm and Thursdays 9am–12pm. A dentist is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8.30am-4pm. The dental hygienist is also in attendance on Fridays 8.30am-3pm. Faith Hospital is an 18-bed facility that provides primary, secondary and emergency care to the residents and visitors of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. The facility provides services in the fields of general medicine, surgery, dialysis, anaesthesia, obstetrics and gynaecology. Emergency Medical Services provides pre-hospital care and transport. Specialist physicians from the Cayman Islands Hospital visit regularly to deliver additional services such as paediatric care, orthopaedics, mental health, urology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology and nutrition.

The Little Cayman Health Centre opened in 1998. The Centre provides primary and emergency care to visitors and residents of Little Cayman, with a resident Registered Nurse and weekly visiting physicians from Faith Hospital. Patients requiring secondary care are transferred to Faith Hospital or the Cayman Islands Hospital. There is an Emergency Response vehicle on-call and the Centre is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-1pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 1pm-5pm. When the doctor visits from Cayman Brac on a Wednesday the office hours are 9am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3pm.
